Configure MX Records for Email Delivery – GoDaddy
If your domain’s DNS Manager is hosted with GoDaddy, follow the below steps to add MX records for your Domain for email delivery.
To manage your MX record:
- Login to your GoDaddy Account.
- Go to the DNS Management page.
- On the DNS Management page, at the bottom of the Records section, click Add and select MX from the menu.
- Complete the following fields:
-
- In the Host field, enter @ to denote the default domain for email delivery.
- In the Points to field, enter mx.caribonix.com.cust.a.hostedemail.com.
- In Priority field, enter 10
-
- Click Save
Note: The instructions provided above may vary slightly. The dot(.) at the end of the MX record is optional. This depends on your domain DNS provider. We recommend you to go through your DNS provider’s support documentation for the exact method to add the MX entries.
You have successfully added MX records for your GoDaddy hosted domain. You can check the MX records with the third party tool www.mxtoolbox.com.
Note: This update may take from a few minutes or up to 72 hours to take effect (depending on your domain name registrar). After some time, you can check the MX records with www.mxtoolbox.com
Important Points:
- Ensure that you have deleted all the MX records related to your previous email provider. Any other existing MX record will conflict with Caribonix Mail, affect email delivery and result in permanent loss of emails delivered.
- The MX Caribonix that should be returned when you check in www.mxtoolbox.com should be
- mx.caribonix.com.cust.a.hostedemail.com
