How to Use the Page Revision Feature
The Page Revision feature allows you to automatically or manually create revisions for individual pages. This feature helps you restore or roll back pages to a previous date and time without affecting the rest of your website’s settings, pages, or content. Here’s how to use the page revision feature.
How Revisions Work:
- Automatic Revisions: A new revision is created every time a page is edited.
- Manual Revisions: You can manually create a revision to ensure a restore point before making changes.
How to Roll Back a Page Revision
Follow these steps to roll back or manually create a page revision:
1. Log in to Your Website’s Back-End
First, log in to the admin area of your site.
2. Navigate to Pages
In the main menu on the left, go to:
- Pages -> All Pages
3. Select the Page You Want to Roll Back
- Click on the page title or select “Edit” from the options beneath the page title.
- The page will load in the editor.
4. Locate the Save Options
Once the page editor is loaded, a page builder will load and you’ll notice an orange “Save” button on the right side.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the “Save” button to display additional options.
5. Manual Revision Creation
- Select “Save as Revision” to create a manual revision before making edits.
- You will be prompted to add an optional revision comment (e.g., date, time, unique title). We recommend including detailed comments for better tracking.
6. Loading Previous Revisions
- To load a previous revision, click “Load Revision” from the same drop-down menu.
- A list of previously saved revisions will appear. Select the one you wish to load.
- This will replace all current content on the page with the version saved in that revision.
Best Practice:
We recommend manually creating a revision before editing any page. This ensures that if you make a mistake, you can easily restore the page to a previous version.
